On this page I have highlighted some highly creative projects that are in development. I put them here as I feel they are of great importance and to show solidarity to these researchers and scientists. In addition to highlight the wonders of how science is healing the world.
If you feel that they are of great important please support them in anyway you feel is appropriate.
Healing Circumcision With Regenerative Medicine
A non-profit organization called Foregen is campaigning for research and implementation of regenerative medical treatments for circumcised males. I first came across Forgen back in 2013, when I was doing intensive research into regenerative medicine and limb regeneration. Since then they have grown and expanded a lot with their research and gaining public awareness.
Circumcision of a male infant is completely unnecessary and a barbaric practice. In addition sexual pleasure in the male genital area is greatly reduced by 30% or higher. It can also cause psychological damage and other trauma.
Forgen have now evolved to a point where they may be entering the objective to initiate a clinical trial soon. You can read an article about their research covered in the media.
Please go to the Forgen website here for further information.
Separately in different research projects, scientists are looking at healing and regeneration of the virginal area for women whom have suffered FGM (female genetic mutilation).
Further Research
I will likely update this page with further novel projects that are in the works, so please bookmark. If you are aware of a project that would fit well here in this discussion, please comment below and I will gladly respond.
Projects I will likely cover would be Spinal Cord Regeneration research, Stem cell research into blindness and Breast Regeneration for mastectomy patients to replace implants.
My name is Chuck L. And I have severe copd. I was watching a show on science t.v. about a man who lost a finger and his brother was working in regeneration. He sent him a powder substance and he put it onto his finger and he grow a new finger that had the same finger print and looked and worked the same as the finger that was missing. I was curious if that is a powder that could regenerate my lungs the same as this mans finger.
Thank you
Chuck LaMon
Hi Chuck,
Thank you for your comments and sorry about your injury. Also sorry for not getting back to you sooner. At the moment it is not possible to regenerate a new finger, at least not yet. The story you are referring to is a man whom lost part of his finger tip and not his whole finger where extracellular matrix (ECM) in power form was applied to his finger. This only applies if part of the finger nail is still present. If you look at this article here where I wrote up about it. There have been others whom have this sort of treatment if their finger tip was lost.
My understanding it is used as part of clinical trial work in Florida and Pittsburgh. It is approved by the FDA but the company manufacturing the product is not allowed to promote it for generating lost finger tips or toes. It is up to the physician to decide if such treatment is valid for such a type of injury and then they need to be trained in its application.
ECM is present in pigs bladder in abundance. They strip away the pig DNA and just left with the ECM which is then used in a variety of different forms. It is used in a number of applications and not just in powder substance.
The military is heavily involved in researching this including injecting into the patient whom has lost a large amount of muscle tissue. They have discovered regrowth of muscle and even skeleton tissue. If you look at the above article I discuss some of this. I will be writing up a detailed article about what the military have been doing in regenerative medicine, this is known as AFIRM or Armed Forces of Institute of Regenerative Medicine.
To answer your other question it is not possible to regrow a new lung at this time and certainly not with ECM powder substance. However, research into regrowing organs such as lungs and kidneys in the lab are currently being developed. This includes producing rats organs and a human kidney was produced using 3D printing technology but they don’t work yet.
Here is a couple of presentations for your interest.
Anthony Atala: Growing new organs
3D Printing Replacement Organs For Humans – The Artificial Kidney
Human Limb Regeneration is science fiction at the moment but sometime in the next decade we might be celebrating a different medical paradigm.
Thanks,
Alexander.
Hey Chuck.
I am sorry to hear about your condition. I can tell you that they have not yet mastered regeneration, especially making it available in such a simple product as a powder. You cant always believe everything you watch on TV, even science or educational shows, because many times they fabricate stuff to make good TV… a lot of it is science fiction. I would recommend that you look into what this powder is exactly, what is it’s chemical content, or ingredients and their effects for someone with your condition. Collect information for yourself as you will find both pro and con commentaries on the internet. But most importantly consult with your physician about it. If it is a beneficial supplement your doctor might agree that it couldn’t harm you to use it, but if its something questionable or could be damaging to you or your health, your doctor would be the best person to make that evaluation. They know your medical condition and history best. I am sure you don’t want to do anything to worsen your condition or cause more complications. Good luck and feel better.
Hey I was wondering if there has been any updates or breakthroughs in any of the research you have posted articles on? It has been awhile since your last post it would be great to receive some hope or information regarding what the future holds. Thanks a lot for bringing attention to the subject! I am only missing a single fingertip and it is still very hard getting used to. I can’t imagine what a breakthrough would mean to people who have it a lot worse than myself.
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your comment and inquiry. Also sorry for the delay in replying. I have another interesting article coming along that I aim to get posted on my website today, its about where scientists want to go, joining forces to take this to the next level. Allowing the research to move along at a better and faster rate.
I replied to your questions about your injury in the following post on How To Regrow Arms And Legs With Epimorphic Regeneration
Do let me know how the scientists respond and I hope it can help you in some way.
I do intend to take this website to the next level with bringing greater awareness this year. I have been involved in my full time work (software developer) and trying to find the time has been challenging, but everything is now starting to get on track. I hope you will like the new article I will be publishing today.
Thank you for your support and interest, but remember this website is all about you and people like you who have to live with life changing injuries.
Thanks,
Alexander.
